[Life Intended] You’re not who you used to be

Hi Reader,

Last Friday, during our Friday Reset Coaching Call, we asked three questions that created some great opportunity for reflection and conversation:

🔶 Who am I trying to be for others?
🔶 What part of me is getting lost while doing that?
🔶 What do I want to believe about myself that I still struggle to?

These questions hit hard because…they’re real.

The answers to them for each of us reveal just how much of our identity is borrowed, shaped, or filtered through what we think others need from us.

And most of the time, we don’t even realize we’re doing it!

We become versions of ourselves that are palatable, productive, or praised.

We become the strong one. The capable one. The one who always holds it together.

And somewhere in that performance, we lose the part of us that is…simply us.

To tie this into our ongoing theme of the importance of self-leadership:
You can’t lead yourself while denying who you are.

Self-leadership requires you to stop shape-shifting long enough to ask:
🔶 Am I living in alignment with who I truly am? Or with who I’ve been told I should be?
🔶 What identity am I ready to evolve beyond?

🔶 If I trusted myself fully, what would I do differently this week?

Take five minutes to sit with these. Write your answers. Say them out loud. No overthinking. The truth tends to show up quickly when we give it space.

Maybe it’s the belief that you always have to be the responsible one.

Or that your independence keeps you from asking for help.

Or that softness equals weakness.

Or that your worth is tied to what you achieve.

You are allowed to rewrite those stories.

You are allowed to believe new things about yourself.

Whatever it is, you're allowed to make it so and believe it. That you’re powerful. That you don't have to do things the hard way. That you deserve to be successful.

That’s the work.
That’s the shift.
That’s self-leadership.

If this resonates, I hope you’ll join us for this week’s Friday Reset Coaching Call. Each week, we’re continuing this conversation and creating space for you to lead yourself forward.

You don’t need more noise. You just need space to hear yourself again. That’s what Friday Reset is for.

Hi Reader, Hi friends, One year ago today, I released the very first episode of the Life Intended podcast. Honestly, I hit “publish” with more questions than answers. Would anyone listen? Would they like it? Would they feel inspired? And now, a year later with dozens of powerful conversations, thousands of downloads, and an entire community built around the idea of living more intentionally I can say: it was absolutely worth it. This podcast has changed me.It has given me the courage to own...

Hi Reader, The personal growth world can be loud. And crowded. Fix this. Heal that. Optimize everything. Read this. Listen to that. Adopt this routine. Before you know it, you’re knee-deep in a list of all the things you need to change and all the ways you need to “improve.” But here’s the shift no one talks about:You don’t need more improvement. You need more self-leadership. Here’s the difference: Self-Improvement says: “You’re broken. Let’s fix you.”Self-Leadership says: “You’re whole....

Hey Reader, Have you ever looked around at your life - the job, the schedule, the relationships - and thought:"I have so much to be grateful for…why do I feel so off?" If that’s you right now, you're not alone. A lot of women, especially high-functioning, thoughtful, get-it-done women are quietly carrying a deep, unspoken question: Who am I right now? Not the role you play at work. Not the version of you your family depends on.Not the reliable one, or the productive one, or the one who holds...
