[Life Intended] When life feels like too much, start here

Hi Reader,

There are seasons when it all just feels like too much.
Too many decisions. Too many demands. Too many tiny things to remember.
And somehow, yet again, you’re the one holding it all.

Whether it’s back-to-school prep, a big work project, or just the mental weight of being the default everything, this time of year has a way of turning up the pressure.

We’ve been talking a lot about that lately.

Not just the overwhelm itself, but the systems, habits, and mindset shifts that actually help you manage it. And we don’t mean more time management tricks or hacks so you can “do more”, but by actually learning to do things differently.

This Week's Practice: "The Rule of One"

This week, we’re practicing something simple but powerful.

✨ The Rule of One.

When your brain is swirling and you feel like you don’t even know where to begin, ask yourself:
What’s the ONE thing I can do right now that will make the rest of this easier?

Then do just that. One task. One boundary. One conversation.
At Life Intended, we’re all about building momentum with small shifts.

Here are a few ideas to try:

  • One 10-minute task you’ve been avoiding (return the form, send the email, toss the pile, sign up for the thing). Set a timer and see what you can get done.
  • One habit to simplify your mornings (pre-pack the lunch, set your clothes out at night, a “no housework or chores in the morning” rule, program your coffee maker)
  • One ask you can make to lighten your load (Can you grab groceries? Can we move this meeting? Can you make dinner one night this week?)
  • One permission you can give yourself today (to rest, to say no, to not feel guilty)

What We’re Practicing at Life Intended:

We’re asking this at our Friday Reset this week:

“Where do I need to give myself a little more grace and what’s one small shift that would help?”

Join us this Friday at 11am ET. It’s free. It’s real. It helps.

And if you want a deeper reset?
→ Our Monthly Reset on August 5 is all about possibility. If there were no constraints, what might be possible for you today? The permission to think about what could be is so powerful. This is going to be so good. Reserve your spot.

We’ll explore that together. You don’t have to figure it out alone.

With you,
Kelly & Sadie

Hi Reader, I used to think that I needed a “day off” or “just more hours in my day” to feel like I could catch my breath. And (I’m guessing that like you), that really never happens. But, I’ve realized that my peace actually comes from how I use the space I already have. For example, my daily walk home after dropping my daughter off at school used to be filled with phone calls and podcasts. Now? It's a quiet time that I claim as mine.Let’s call it a margin moment. And having that time, and using...

Hi Reader, I’ve been thinking a lot about time. How we spend it. How we protect it. How easy it is to fill it without meaning to. Last week, I shared that we lost my brother-in-law, Mark. In the time since, I’ve witnessed the incredible ripple effect of a life lived with presence and intention. Mark knew what mattered. He poured into his people. And the love that came back to him in those final days was a reflection of that. It has me looking closely at how I’m living, too. Where am I...

Hi Reader, Before I get into this week's newsletter, I wanted to share some personal news. On Sunday, my brother-in-law Mark, passed after a 2 year battle with Stage IV Colorectal Cancer. We are heartbroken to no longer have his presence in our lives, but are so thankful that his fight and suffering is over. The topic of today's newsletter and the podcast this week is Relationships. And I want to take a minute to honor Mark and just say how timely I think this topic is. Relationships were...
