[Life Intended] Still stuck after all the podcasts and books? This might be why.

Hey Reader,

Awaken starts this week and we couldn’t imagine a more aligned time to kick it off.

Because let’s be real.
Most women, like us, don’t need more information. They need more space to integrate what they are learning, more support to process it and more courage to live it.

And this is exactly the kind of experience we’re creating inside Awaken.

Awaken is not an information download. It is a 6-week guided journey for women who are juggling a multitude of roles in their lives, and who are ready to make that first step to clarity, courage, and bold, aligned action in their life.

Whether you’re navigating a life transition (career, relationship, motherhood), healing from burnout, craving deeper connection, or seeking more alignment, this experience is a guided transformation designed to generate real momentum in your life.

Through weekly coaching, reflective practices, and a deepening connection with yourself and other women, you'll begin practicing self-leadership in your everyday choices.

There’s still time to join us.
Save your spot before Thursday.

And this week’s Life Intended podcast episode? It couldn’t be more aligned. This is exactly what we’re unpacking with Dr. Gabby Pelicci.

I’m sure you’ve noticed, there’s no shortage of “self-help” content out there.
Podcasts (including ours).
Books.
Workshops.
Instagram accounts.
That friend who just read something and thinks it’s perfect for you too.

We’re all absolutely inundated with information, especially in the self-help space.
And we’re hearing more and more that it's not only overwhelming, it’s not really all that helpful.

We’re all absolutely inundated with information, especially in the self-help space.
And we’re hearing more and more that it's not only overwhelming, it’s not really all that helpful.

The truth is, you can consume and learn and read and talk about all the things, but a learning journey isn’t the same as a healing journey.

Reading more about anxiety probably isn’t helping yours. Listening to more podcasts on sleeping better probably isn’t actually improving your sleep.

Those are just some of the examples that Dr. Gabrielle Pelicci mentioned when she joined me on this week’s episode of Life Intended.

And it really hit home.

Gabby is a trauma recovery expert, holistic health professor, and bestselling author.
She’s spent decades studying healing and walking through it herself.

She reminded us of something that some of us may not be aware of or thinking about.

You can read the book.
You can quote the podcast.
You can understand the theory.

But healing doesn’t happen in your head.
It happens in your body.

And it’s so easy to confuse the two.

At Life Intended, we exist for the integration.

We believe that you don’t need just more content, but more connection to your body, your identity, your values and purpose, and to others walking this path too.

That’s why our work focuses on embodiment, real-time reflection, and integrative community-based experiences like:

  • Friday Reset – a weekly pause to reflect, release, and reconnect
  • Monthly Reset – an in-person chance to exhale, share and feed your soul with others.
  • Awaken – our 6-week guided journey for women ready to shift from “coping” to conscious living

Our approach is Integral: We support inner transformation and help you navigate your place in the systems and stories that have shaped you. If a promise of a quick fix exists - they won’t work. We believe in sustained, embodied change.

So if you’ve been feeling stuck, spinning, or overwhelmed, this week’s podcast is your invitation to slow down, pause and feel.

Your body already knows what it needs, it just needs the space to speak.

With love,
Kelly + Sadie

Season 2, Episode 40: You Can't Self-Help Your Way Out of Trauma: A Candid Conversation with Dr. Gabrielle Pelicci

Listen on: Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Amazon Music | YouTube

In this episode, trauma recovery expert Dr. Gabrielle Pelicci shares why consuming more self-help content isn’t the solution and how real healing begins in the body, not the mind.

We explore the difference between insight and integration, the traps of emotional bypassing, and how practices like breathwork, somatic awareness, and even creative expression, like writing, can guide us back to wholeness.

Gabby reminds us that healing doesn’t come from knowing more, it comes from feeling more.

🎧 A must-listen for anyone feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready to move from thinking to truly transforming.

Hi Reader, We ended last week with a powerful Friday Reset on a topic that, is concerningly, but maybe not so surprisingly, out of reach for women - Self compassion Intentional kindness toward yourself, especially when things are hard. To help us explore this for ourselves, Sadie shared a framework from researcher and author Kristin Neff, who describes self-compassion as having three core components: Self-Kindness – Speaking to yourself the way you would a close friend Common Humanity –...

Hi Reader, You’ll hear us talk a lot about Self-leadership, which really starts with self awareness. This is a life skill typically not taught in school so as adults when we go through any transition, or feel pulled to change in some way, it’s hard. Becoming honest with yourself is an important step to cultivating self-awareness, through the quiet, everyday check-ins where you pause and ask: What do I actually care about? What's draining me? What energizes me? What feels out of alignment? You...

Hi Reader, The topic of self-belief has been showing up everywhere for us lately. We’ve been seeing it surface in conversations with clients, in a recent Friday Reset and even in our own inner dialogue. The more we listen to our clients, our community, and ourselves, the more obvious it becomes: so much of what we’re wrestling with comes back to self-belief. We often think our confidence comes from certainty, experience, or other people’s validation.Real self-belief is built from the inside...
