[Life Intended] Live the life you want

Hi Reader,

Wow. Just wow.

What a crazy few weeks we've had in Florida with Helene followed by Milton. The impacts of these storms have been felt far and wide across our state and many others, including the unimaginable devastation in Western North Carolina. A neighborhood just 5 miles north of us had 41 homes completely destroyed from the tornados ahead of Milton and a neighborhood about 20 miles south had 11 homes destroyed and more than 300 damaged. So many people in our area have lost homes and cars, there were several injuries and one neighborhood alone had 6 fatalities.

And all of that happened before the hurricane even arrived in our area.

Can you imagine that happening where you live? Life truly is precious and can change in an instant. We've seen far too many reminders of that lately.

And yet, how often do we find ourselves coasting through our days, stuck on autopilot, settling for what's comfortable but not necessarily fulfilling?

This is your reminder: there is no time to waste.

We don't know what tomorrow holds, but we do know that today is a gift. Living intentionally means showing up fully in the present, being true to yourself, and making choices that align with who you really are. It's about embracing authenticity, even when it's hard, and refusing to settle for anything less than the life you know you're meant to live.

You owe it to yourself to stop waiting for the "right time"—there's no better time than now to step off autopilot and start creating a life you love, a life lived with purpose.

Every moment matters. Let’s not take it for granted.

What I'm loving:

Each week, in this section, I'll add links to things I'm listening to, reading, cooking, wearing and more - the things I'm loving right now!

🎧 What I'm listening to: Pursuit of Wellness: How to Manifest Wealth and Break Limiting Money Beliefs w/ Shamina Taylor. I stumbled across this episode but really, really enjoyed it. They talk about beliefs around money, the victim mentality and creating a wealthy mindset. I don't think, as women, we think about our relationship to money and how that impacts the limitations we set on ourselves. And I think we should. Spoiler alert - I'm working on something to address this too:)

📚 What I'm reading: Big Magic (shoutout to Romi! for the rec!) I'm not even halfway through but this book is so good! If you're wanting to be more creative, do something with your ideas or live with less fear, read this. It's by Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love so you know it's going to be life-changing.

🍽️ What I'm cooking/eating: Every Sunday for about the past 18 months, I wake up early and make Banana Pancakes for my family. Viv loves them and they make a great, quick breakfast or snack throughout the week. It's one of the highlights of my week to make these for them and eat breakfast together. I often times add some vanilla protein powder and don't use the honey called for. This recipe is super flexible and forgiving. Last week I subbed a can of pumpkin for the bananas and they were yum!!

🤣 What's making me laugh: Someone reposted this video and said this is what it's like taking my kids to a restaurant and I feel this in MY SOUL lolol.

We are headed to KY this week and are so excited to enjoy some fall weather, visit some pumpkin patches and spend time with our families!

Hope you have a great week!

Hello Reader, This week’s solo episode of Life Intended is one that’s very close to my heart. I decided to take a break from interviews to explore a topic I believe is at the core of intentional living: self-reflection. So why dedicate an entire episode to this? Because I've experienced firsthand the power of pausing and asking myself the tough questions. We live in a world where we're constantly on the go, juggling endless responsibilities, and it’s easy to fall into autopilot mode. But when...

Hi Reader, Think about the relationships that mean the most to you: your partner, close friends, family, colleagues, maybe even the connection you have with yourself. What if I told you there’s one simple shift that could deepen every single one of those relationships? It’s this: learning to truly listen. I’m not talking about the kind of listening we often do, nodding along while our minds are racing to respond. I’m talking about listening with vulnerability, with genuine curiosity, and...

Hi Reader, OK, who decided to have Halloween, time change and the election all within 6 days?! Poor planning if you ask me. Also, when are we going to stop this time change madness? What happened to the Sunshine Protection Act? Why do toddlers have no regard for this change? Lol. Send help. Anyway, with everything that's been going on, it was good timing for last week's episode. If you're feeling overstimulated and dysregulated, be sure to give that one a listen! This week's episode features...
